Regulations for drones in Clarée

Drone plan

A large part of the Clarée Valley is off-limits to drone flights, while the southern part of the valley is subject to flight altitude restrictions.

See the map opposite and the updated map of regulations relating to overflights on Geoportail:

geoportal mapping drone flyover

In general, the following are prohibited in model aircraft flying:
→ flying in public spaces in urban areas and flying over gatherings of people,
→ night flying,
→ flying "out of sight" of the remote pilot, except in cases where the pilot is flying "immersed" with the assistance of an observer.
→ flying over the core areas of national parks and national nature reserves.

For other protected natural areas:
Outside these parks and reserves, flying unmanned aircraft over other protected areas (Sensitive Natural Areas, Natura 2000 zones, etc.) is not usually prohibited (it may be temporarily prohibited by prefectural order). However, remote pilots should be aware of the undeniable disturbance that model aircraft can cause to wildlife (particularly birds and mammals). Therefore, flying model aircraft is not recommended at certain times of the year (nesting and hatching) and near animals. Compliance with these simple provisions helps to limit the need for formal prohibitions.

Regulationsfor motorhomes and caravans

Wild camping is strictly prohibited throughout the municipality, including the Roubion parking lot. Short- or long-term parking is permitted, but sleeping in vehicles is not allowed, and vehicles must remain within the designated parking areas (short-term and long-term zones).

Access to the Upper Valley during shuttle service hours for motorhomes:

From Névache Ville-haute to Fontcouverte: motorhomes and caravans (like all vehicles) are prohibited from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., even for those with permission (customers of the Fontcouverte campground and residents of chalets in the Upper Valley traveling by motorhome or caravan must wait until 6 p.m. to go up!).

From Fontcouverte to Laval : motorhomes and caravans are prohibited from traveling day and night, 24 hours a day.

In the hamlet of Roubion (next to the municipal campground of La Lame), a waste disposal and water refill area is available for RVs.
