Take advantage of a family vacation in Izoard to reconnect with nature and create unforgettable family memories.
Cross-country skiing
in CervièresA cozy, intimate estate, uncluttered and unspoiled, where you can truly unwind and escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life. With its two locations:
- The Laus area
- The Fonts valley
It stretches for about 50 kilometers, offering a range of difficulty levels so that everyone can find something to suit them.
In the Laus area, you’ll find trails that wind through the forest, as well as the legendary climb up the Col de l’Izoard. Over in the Vallée des Fonts, you’ll enjoy 10 km of pure bliss (and rock-hard calves!) in a less wooded, more lunar landscape where you’ll feel tiny.
Nordic area
from Villard-Saint-PancraceAfter a first taste of cross-country skiing, we explore the sport from a different angle.
Head to the Villar-Saint-Pancrace Mountain Center for a wide range of activities: ski hockey, a toboggan run with a conveyor belt, an introduction to biathlon, snowshoeing, or even dog sledding!
Don't worry if you don't have all the gear—there's a rental shop where you can rent cross-country skis, boots, poles, and snowshoes. And after your workout, head to the sunny terrace to relax, grab a bite to eat, or just have a drink.

Farm visits
The Izoard is full of farms, each one more authentic than the last. You can immerse yourself in the history of each one to learn about the lives of local people, discover local products, and pet the animals. It’s the perfect activity for creating unforgettable memories for the kids!
la Petite Ferme des Regains
Discover his charming troupe of old-breed animals and learn about the life of Alpine farmers in days gone by.
la Maison des Bêtes à Laine
Everything you need to know about wool processing: from shearing to the finished product, and the role of the sheep farmer.
The Lasseron farm
Cheeses with a taste of the Alps are here. Cow's milk or goat's milk, there's something for everyone!
Time travel
We set out from Cervières on snowshoes to climb up to Fort des Aittes, which won’t come into view until the very last moment.
This Maginot fortification, situated along the Italian border, remains well hidden from passersby. Leaving your snowshoes at the entrance, you enter the cliff to explore the 300-meter-long tunnels, where intact living quarters, a kitchen, a radio station, and an infirmary bear witness to the lives the soldiers led while confined here during the First Battle of the Alps in 1940.
Back in Cervières, we stop at the Faure-Vincent House Museum to get a close-up look at how farmers lived in the late 19th century: the layout of a farmhouse, the tools of the time, and so on…
Meal at the mountain hut and sledding
To end the trip on a high note, we’ll tackle the climb up the Col de l’Izoard on foot or on snowshoes to enjoy a meal—and perhaps even spend the night—in a mountain hut surrounded by the peaks.
As a bonus, enjoy a long sled ride down the summer road, which turns into a cross-country ski trail in winter! And if you want to stay the night or have dinner at the mountain hut, be sure to make a reservation in advance.
