Set off on an adventure from day one by exploring Villard-Saint-Pancrace, an ideal location just 10 minutes from Briançon, perfect for reconnecting with nature after any long journey.

Embark on a day of exploration by becoming real wildlife detectives. Follow the Villard-Saint-Pancrace botanical trail from the Centre Montagne, a 2 km trail through the woods that will enable you to identify the plant species of the larch forest and discover the remains of the peasant coal mines.

If you feel like it, you can also discover life in the woods along the route of the Moulin de Sachas bird sanctuary, taking the time to observe the world around you. Explanatory panels on birds, insects and bats will be there to enrich your experience along the way. A day rich in discovery and immersion in nature awaits you.

Day 2: Dinosaurs and other witnesses to the past

A day to plunge into the distant past at the Maison de la Géologie in Puy-Saint-André. Workshops and activities on dinosaurs, fossils, the Alpine ocean and astronomy await you.

With four life-size dinosaur models to discover on site and plenty of other surprises, children will be amazed by the world of yesteryear, and curious to discover the secrets of today's world.

The Maison de la Géologie has something to keep young and old busy for a good part of the day, between the geodrome, which retraces the geological history of the Alps, the indoor museum with several educational workshops and films on local geology, and a planetarium for an introduction toastronomy.

Today, we're off to Cervières, for a family-friendly stroll with views over the Fonts de Cervières valley and the vast Bourget marshes.

Onwards to Lac des Sarailles, reflecting the summit of Chenaillet. This place is a testimony to the geological history of the Alps (it will remind us of some of the notions we learned at the Maison de la Géologie). And yes, it's sometimes hard to believe, but once upon a time, these rocks were under the ocean.

Back in the valley, you can try your hand at fly-fishing in the crystal-clear torrent of the Cerveyrette, or watch the evening milking at the Ferme du Lasseron alpine chalet in the hamlet of Les Chalps.

On the way back to Cervières, why not stop off for a drink at the Petit Cerf - Mountain Lodge?

In a rustic, natural setting just 5 minutes from Briançon - Serre Chevalier, it's time to swap your clothes for those of yesteryear and put yourself in the shoes of the farmers of yesteryear.

Today, we're getting to know all the feathered and furry inhabitants of the Petite Ferme des Regains, an educational farm based on Alpine traditions, which is sure to take us back in time once again. You can either take the Back to the Past tour, or become a farmer for a night, helping Julie with animal care at the end of the day. Donkeys, horses, sheep, pigs, chickens... you can stroke them, feed them, get to know their habits, and find yourself immersed in mountain life.

To get there, we take our mountain bikes and return via the pastoral tracks and irrigation canals of the Planparin loop.
