From the village of Cervières, a challenging climb along the Cerveyrette river takes you to the Bourget woods and pastoral hamlets, witnesses to a timeless Alpine heritage.

5. Villard-Saint-Pancrace Nordic Ski Area de Villard-Saint-Pancrace

Its 36 kilometers of trails wind their way from the heights of the village, crossing meadows and forests, to the charming alpine chalets. Along the way, the view of the Vauban fortifications adds a spectacular touch to the experience. The Marsenche trail is lit for nighttime outings. The red and black trails, as well as the shared routes, cross the large forest that overlooks the village.
P.S.: Once a week, your four-legged friends are invited to join in the fun with slots reserved for dog sledding.

Thanks to the shared itinerary, you can explore the Haute Clarée. The steep peaks of the Cerces massif contrast with the gentle river and alpine chalets with their preserved traditional architecture. At the end of the valley is Laval, with its chalets and numerous (unmarked) trails in the upper valley. In Fontcouverte, you can stop for a gourmet break at La Fruitière, which serves delicious, comforting mountain dishes.
On the Izoard side, the eponymous pass will be a daunting challenge! Whether on foot, cross-country skis, snowshoes, or touring skis, the 8 km route winds through a larch forest with views of the Napoleon refuge, where refreshments and a mandatory blueberry tart checkpoint await!
