In summer, the possibilities are endless, with no shortage of activities in the mountains: hiking, cycling and mountain biking, climbing, via ferrata, rafting, canyoning, paragliding... The most active visitors will be delighted.

While sporting activities may be the first thing that comes to mind, you will also find crafts, heritage, tours, and discoveries...

To catch your breath and take your time, why not treat yourself to a coffee at the crack of dawn, stroll through the local markets, or simply read a book in the sun, by a lake or river? And why not treat yourself to some me-time with our wellness areas and massage services?

Dogs in the High Valleys – La Grave, La Clarée, L'Izoard

Please note that in summer, herds are often guarded by protective dogs called "Patous."

If you want to discover the High Valleys with their thousands of flowers, here are our tips and the ideal time to come on vacation!

Mid-June is the peak season for flowering meadows in La Grave, Clarée, and around Izoard. It's the ideal time to visit the Hautes Vallées. You'll also find fewer crowds than during the summer months.

The biodiversity of the fields is in full swing, much to the delight of pollinators, hikers, and photographers.

Alpine flowers

From mid-June to mid-July, alpine flowers display their most beautiful petals, offering hikers a dazzling spectacle of colors. Gentians, houseleeks, edelweiss, rhododendrons... a true tribute to the beauty of the peaks!
