Trail in Izoard
Trail running in the mountains is the simple pleasure of being close to nature! Exploring the trails of Izoard is like a dream come true, to be enjoyed without moderation.
Explore the steep trails around the Col de l'Izoard, where the mountains tell the story of the Hautes Vallées. From Villard-Saint-Pancrace to the Fort de la Grande Maye, via the Col des Ayes or the Queyras Regional Park, each route offers an immersion into a raw and unspoiled landscape.
Up there, the wind sings through the larch trees, mountain flowers fill the air with their scent, and panoramic views unfold like a dream at high altitude.
A sensory and sporting experience in the heart of spectacular natural surroundings.
Escape to the heights
With every stride, every breath, the trail takes you to breathtaking panoramas that will remain etched in your memory forever.
Between ridges and valleys, the routes vary according to your desires: peaceful valley floors or climbs to summits with magnificent views. The terrain, often dry and stony, alternates between technical sections and more rolling stretches. And what a joy it is when the balcony trail winds its way over a carpet of larch needles, crosses a refreshing stream, skirts a high-altitude lake, or suddenly opens up onto the immensity of a wild valley. A concentration of raw nature, for moments of pure freedom.
OUR TIPS FOR ENJOYING YOUR TRAIL RUN
To have a great experience on the trails, it's best to start with the right habits. Here are a few simple tips for combining enjoyment, safety, and performance:
◊ Choose a course that suits your level : If you are just starting out, choose routes that are less than 10 km long with little elevation gain. The most important thing is to enjoy yourself, not to push yourself too hard.
◊ Equip yourself with good trail shoes, equipped with studs for traction, and suited to your practice (more or less dynamic, depending on the desired cushioning).
◊ Always bring water, a snack, and warm clothing., even in good weather: in the mountains, the weather changes quickly.
◊ Adjust your pace according to the terrain and your fitness level. Alternating between running and walking is perfectly normal, even for experienced trail runners.
◊ Above all, savor the moment. : Breathe, admire the scenery, listen to nature... Trail running is also a time to reconnect.
