The Chapel of the Penitents was built in the 19th century by a local family, likely on much older foundations. Records of the brotherhood of Villard-Saint-Pancrace date back to 1694.

Description

The chapel consists of a nave with two bays covered by groined vaults. There is a gallery spanning the first bay and side aisles running along the second bay. The apse is covered by a semicircular vault.

This chapel was destroyed by fire in 1944 and subsequently renovated.
The Brotherhood of the Penitents is composed of laypeople who carry out pious and charitable works. The Penitents also welcomed pilgrims on their way to Santiago de Compostela.
