Looking for unusual places steeped in history? Mont Chenaillet, a recognized witness to alpine and oceanic formation, and Les Aittes, an infantry work, will arouse your curiosity. As for the alpine hamlets and the Fonts valley, they offer a natural and cultural landscape that reminds us of the importance of agriculture in this part of the Hautes-Alpes.
Throughout history, the village of Cervières has had to evolve. Fire, bombing in the summer of 1944 and the flood of 1957 led the inhabitants of Cervières to modify the layout of the village and to build dykes and levels to control the Cerveyrette torrent .
Close to the village is the Col d'Izoard, home to at least one famous cycling race every year , the most famous of which is the Tour de France .
