Sundial at the Val-des-Prés school
Here is a beautiful modern sundial made in 1998. Its creators signed their names in the upper right corner: Evelyne and Norbert Peyrot, the valley's sundial makers, and the school children.
Description
Here is a beautiful modern sundial made in 1998. Its creators signed their names in the upper right corner: Evelyne and Norbert Peyrot, the valley's sundial makers, and the school children.
Of course, the sundial is about school. The hour lines are colored pencils, and the students' work is represented by a pen, inkwell, and lines from a school notebook. Finally, the motto nicely sums up the purpose of a school: “Open your notebook and discover the world.”
The children chose the design for the sundial, came up with the motto, and each climbed up the scaffolding to paint a small section of the sundial !
