At the end of the world, beneath the Cerces massif, this short family loop hike reaches the Drayères refuge via the stony track on the left bank of the Clarée and returns via the magnificent, bucolic little path on the right bank...

Description

From the Laval parking lot, take the main track leading down the valley towards the Refuge des Drayères. Ignore the Moutet bridge on your left towards the Lac des Béraudes, as this is the return path.

Progress is gentle on a wide gravel path: for about 3 kilometers, you'll see the Cerces massif rise up in front of you, with the Pic des Cerces and the Main de Crépin. You are on the GR de Pays du Tour du Mont Thabor.

Don't hesitate to stop off at the refuge before retracing your steps, this time leaving the track on the right ("Laval par la rive droite" sign) to reach a small footbridge spanning the Clarée.

On your way back, take the dirt path along the river until you reach the Pont du Moutet and your starting point.
