Crête de Baude ski touring
Widely covered, short and not very difficult, the crête de Baude is a must for those who pass through the vallon de Buffère, with many possible descents, depending on snow conditions.
Description
Snow quickly exposed in good weather (south-facing). Leave the refuge as for the Col de Buffère, then turn right quickly to reach a low point on the steep slope overlooking the bottom of the valley on the left bank.
Cross this landing (10m steep), then pull sharply northwards to climb as steeply as possible to the Baude ridge (2571m).
Several descents are possible, depending on snow conditions. The easiest follows the ascent. For average skiers.
For good skiers and when the snow is stable, you can descend to the Clarée via the north combe or the east face.
