A relaxing hiking holiday to discover the most beautiful lakes in the Clarée Valley. A wild and soothing natural site, for a comfortable stay in a ** hotel, between relaxation and harmony.

Description

>> PROGRAM <<
Here are a few suggested hikes for guidance only. The valley's mountainous terrain is as diverse as it is splendid, so your guide will be able to lead you on other routes: depending on the level and aspirations of the group, the weather forecast, and the mood of the day!
If you're a regular visitor to the valley, or if you're staying for two weeks, he'll be able to vary the itinerary with a few hikes you're not familiar with.
Day 01: Welcome
Pick-up at your hotel** in the afternoon. Check-in. Briefing at 7pm with your tour leader.

Day 02: Les Muandes lakes from Laval
They shaped our mountain landscape 50,000-10000 years ago... the last great glaciers left their mark: lakes, cirques, moraines and poli-glacial rocks shape the path of this first day of discovery.
Elevation gain - Walking time
Ascent: + and - 550m / Approximate walking time: 4 to 5h.
Day 03: Col du Chardonnet & Casse Blanche lakes
In the Chardonnet mountain pasture, beyond the glacial lock, you'll be surprised by a breathtaking panorama: an "eyeful" of the legendary rock and ice giants of the Ecrins massif.
You'll follow in the footsteps of an ancient graphite mine, in the wilderness of high-altitude meadows and the shimmer of silver lakes on the edge of the mineral world.
Elevation gain - Walking time
Ascent: + and - 800m / Approximate walking time: 5 to 6h
Day 04: Lac Chavillon des Thures (optional: Lac Bellety) and the Thures valley
The Thures mountain pasture is the gateway to the Vallée Etroite, with its lilting Italian accent and the history of territories that once shared a border.
The forest climb gradually leads to a lush, suspended valley, a vast estival pasture for one of the valley's transhumant herds. A magical viewpoint welcomes you here, set against a backdrop of dolomitic mountains, facing the mythical summit of Le Thabor, the great sentinel of the "Valle Stretta". The panorama of the surrounding valleys and peaks reveals the distinctive profile of our Clarée valley.

Elevation gain - Walking time
Ascent: + and - 600m / Approximate walking time: 4h30 to 5h
Day 05: Lac de la Clarée OR Lac des Béraudes
In the kingdom of the Haute Vallée, the torrents flow tirelessly, the paths unfold joyfully, the ridges taper and take on pastel hues, the flowers brighten up between rocky outcrops and trickles of water, and the fauna sometimes reveals itself in a discreet, ephemeral presence...
A magnificent progression along the lilting notes of the Clarée to its source: the trail stretches along its clear, voluble waters to arrive at the gateway to the Haute Maurienne, in a place where the frontier of yesteryear still exists today OR a short but pronounced climb in the cool of tumbling torrents, on the lace of a path of flowery pebbles that leads us into the alcove of an unforgettable glacial lake.

Elevation gain - Walking time
Ascent: + and - 500 to 700m / Approximate walking time: 4h30 to 6h
Day 06: Laramon and Serpent lakes
The pastoral setting of the hamlet of Ricou opens the way to the soothing calm of mountain lakes: here, of the myriad lakes of the Haute Clarée, two of the largest are on offer.
The trail rises gently through a 180° panorama of the Cerces massif, then the Ecrins, to the marine and emerald colors of these two superb lakes, where you'd be likely to come across fishermen or long-distance hikers.

Elevation gain - Walking time
Ascent: + and - 600m / Approximate walking time: 4h30 to 5h
Day 07: End of tour
End of stay and dispersal after breakfast. Please vacate rooms by 10 a.m.

Level

Hiker level 2/3 on a scale of 5 :

- 4 to 7 hours walking per day. Hikes with several options.
- Mountain itineraries with a cumulative ascent and/or descent of 500 to 800 meters.
- Rucksack: you carry your gear for the day and a picnic.
This trip is for people who want to hike unsupervised, but are used to medium-mountain hikes of 4 to 7 hours' duration and 500 to 800 meters of ascent and descent. Depending on the option chosen, some hikes may exceed 1000m in altitude difference. For some of the longer stages, we always suggest an easier itinerary.
