Le lac de l’Orceyrette marque la frontière entre le Queyras et le bois des Ayes. Admirez les vieux pins cembros, guettez la chouette chevêchette et la chouette de Tengmalm, prélassez vous au bord de ce joli lac d’altitude.

Contemplation is the watchword

To visit Lac des Cordes is to discover a place of greenery and calm in the heart of the mountain pastures, with a view of the Italian crests and Mont Chenaillet. The lake is a place for contemplation and relaxation. The loop can be completed via the Col des Marsailles, returning along the Cerveyrette.

Start: Hameau du Bourgea, Cervières

Duration: 2 hours

Ascent: 480m (680m via the Marsailles pass)

Our little tip:A few small lakes shine above us. Dare to climb a little higher to see Lac de l'Étoile and Lac de la Madeleine.

History geological

Lac des Sarailles lies in an environment of scree and moraine, punctuated by basalts and gabbros that bear witness to an ancient ocean that has now disappeared. These two rocks are characteristic of the oceanic crust, fed by lava and visible in the open air. This family-friendly walk offers beautiful views over the Fonts valley and the Bourget marsh. Explanatory panels punctuate the walk, giving an insight into the geological history of the Alps.

Our little tip: On the way back, you can opt for a variation via Lac Noir and/or Lac de Gignoux.

Walk family

Lac Noir is an easy, family-friendly hike offering a fine view over the Cerveyrette valley. Between scree slopes and grassy pastures, the landscape invites you to take a break.

Our little tip: Take the time to make a detour to Lac de Rouséou and then take the Lac des Sarailles option.

The lake Gignoux

At the gateway of Italy

Lac Gignoux is located in a scree and moraine environment close to the Chenaillet massif. It covers almost 2 hectares. The ridge overlooking the lake marks the border with Italy. It's an easy hike with a magnificent view over the Cerveyrette valley and the Marais du Bourget plain .
