Terre Rouge cable car

Discover this cable car built in 1939 by the company Renoud Giron Viaroz and the 4th Genie. Its mission was to ensure the logistics of the high altitudes of the Gondrans and the Janus, thus avoiding 15 km of mountain road.

Description

the construction of this cabe car took place between 1937 and 1938. On the eve of the declaration of war, it had the function of "supplying the entire plateau of the Gondrans, with its men, its beasts, its forts and its very important artillery as we could see, avoiding the road, a long journey not always practicable. The elegance of its line is based on 10 metal towers that spread 2,760 ml of carrier cables.
