Come and discover the educational farm "La maison des bêtes à laine", where you can stroke our gentle sheep, carry, pamper and bottle-feed the lambs! And maybe, with a bit of luck, you'll be able to witness... a birth!

Description

La maison des bêtes à laine is a family affair.
Pierre and Faustine welcome you to share their passion for breeding.

By coming to meet them, you'll be able to observe the life of a flock of sheep in the mountains, in the Vallée de Cervières, a territory of mountain pastures tended for generations by the Bêtes à Laine.

In addition to learning about pastoralism and visiting the sheepfold, you'll discover "wool in all its forms", as sheep produce a fleece that we can transform for a variety of needs.

The visit to this educational farm, approved by the French Ministry of Education and the Bienvenue à la Ferme network, includes educational videos on the whole of the profession, total immersion in the sheep's winter living quarters, and finally a discovery of the stages in the transformation of wool "from fleece to yarn".

At the Maison des Bêtes à Laine, you can :
- Take part in wool discovery workshops - From fleece to thread (Workshop on request)
- Take part in tours of the farm, to discover Pierre and Faustine's passionate craft.
- Buy balls of wool, socks, quilts and by-products from their sheep!
