Villar d'Arène has preserved an ancestral tradition of "Boulli Bread" made from rye flour and water, and the association is there to preserve this richness.

Description

Today, local residents share in this respect for tradition and conviviality during the making of the bread around November 20 (seen on FR3 "Faut pas rêver-Chronique d'en Haut").
Guided tours organized by the association du Four et du Moulin (Oven and Mill Association) provide an insight into life in the past. Screening of the 1953 film "Alpine Village" (Marcel Maget, an ethnologist who wrote a thesis on "le Po Boulli").
