Technical enduro descent with numerous hairpins. Numerous views from the summit.
Description
Start from Les Gondrans (top of Montgenèvre ski lifts) or climb up the forest road from Montgenèvre (D+ 600m). From the top of the Col des Gondrans, follow the old military road downhill for 1km.
At the second hairpin bend, turn right onto a carriage road (at first...).
At the Cochette barracks at the foot of the old Infernet fort (return trip recommended for the view). Turn right onto a long, very beautiful, narrow, technical trail (many switchbacks).
At 1930m, you come to an old military road, which you follow for a few metres until you find the downhill path on the right.
At 1440m you come across a track. Take it on the left, then head up towards the Fort des Têtes.
Go down to the Asfeld bridge and back up to the Cité Vauban and Champ de Mars.
