N°55 tour of Fort de l'Infernet

Relatively easy but long descent (not recommended for children). Numerous views from the summit.

Description

Start from Les Gondrans (top of Montgenèvre ski lifts) or climb up the forest road from Montgenèvre (D+ 600m). From the top of the Col des Gondrans, follow the old military road downhill for 1km.
Fork right onto a balcony path.
Pass at the foot of the old Infernet fort (return trip recommended to enjoy the view).
At Baraques de la Seyte, turn right into the Infernet woods.
At Clot de l'Infernet, take the left-hand track leading down to Fort des Têtes.
At the Fort des Têtes, cross the Asfel bridge and go up to the Cité Vauban and Champ de Mars.
