Pic du Mas de La Grave refuge
Discover a magnificent landscape thanks to the alpine pastures in the Buffe valley.
Dominated by the Pic de Mas de la Grave and overlooking the Gâ torrent, this valley is favored by transhumant herders during the summer period.
Description
The departure is at the parking lot at the foot of the village of Chazelet.
At the first fork, take a hairpin right towards the foot of the ski lifts. (Do not go up to the village).
At the 2nd fork, stay on the side without descending to the level of the Gâ torrent. Continue the wide track.
At the 3rd fork, turn right towards the hamlets of Rivets to reach the Coix de Tuf (1901m). At the cross, continue forward on the dirt track until you reach the Pic du Mas de La Grave Hut.
Additional welcome
There may be herds of sheep on the trail; bypass them to avoid
upsetting the dogs that guard the herds.
