Easy stroll to Lac du Pontet, offering spectacular views of the Ecrins peaks.

Description

From the parking lot at the bottom of Villar d'Arène (1670 m), walk up alongside the church, take the opposite street and cross the village to the main road.

Cross the main road and 100 m further up, turn left onto the path leading up to the Saint-Antoine chapel.

At the entrance to the hamlet of Les Cours, don't take the tarmac road to the left, but continue straight ahead through the entire hamlet.

At the fountain, turn left and 20 m further on, take the path to the right.

At the end of the hamlet, take the "Cour Rambaude" path, which climbs to the left.

Cross the carriage track coming from the lake parking lot and take the path opposite to reach Lac du Pontet (1985 m). Go around the lake to the right.

Go downhill on the wide track and then follow the asphalt road for approx. 300 m to the second parking lot.

Shortly after the parking lot, take the path on the right to Villar d'Arène.
