Friends of the Saint-Martin church of Villar d'Arene Association

This association aims the restoration of the Church of St. Martin of Villar d'Arene, emblematic building of Villar d'Arene.

Description

The association was founded in 1995 and its leaders have worked tirelessly. In 2016, the association commissioned a restoration project from a heritage architect. The association proposed the project to the municipality, pledging its support. The choir windows were removed. The transept and nave windows were protected with macrolon (honeycomb plastic). This was followed by work to make the building airtight and watertight. The building's foundations have been consolidated. What remains to be done are the interior fittings, notably the flooring, electricity, stained-glass windows and restoration of the sacristy.
