Anne Zanolin - hiking, safety and mountain science
Mountain guide at the La Grave Guide Office, alpine rescue ski patroller at Le Chazelet, avalanche and first aid instructor at ANENA, and Ph.D. in Environmental Geosciences.
Description
Anne lives in the Pays de la Meije and loves to share her passion for this agricultural region of mountains, alpine pastures, and glaciers. She’ll guide you as you climb peaks and explore lakes and waterfalls—in every season, on foot or with snowshoes, for day trips or longer stays, whether you’re a beginner, a nature lover, or an experienced hiker. What does she enjoy most? Combining physical activity with exploring the landscape and sharing knowledge! Through nature discovery hikes, athletic hikes facing glaciers, or excursions focused on the stars and medicinal and edible plants,
As a scientist and environmental educator, Anne also loves to combine science and the mountains. She leads school field trips at all grade levels in ecology, geology, glaciology, and climate science. She also offers introductory sessions, awareness-building activities, or advanced training in the topics she’s passionate about: geology, geomorphology, glaciology, climatology, soil science; botany, prehistory, and cultural heritage.
Anne is also a ski patrol first responder and safety instructor for winter and summer hiking (avalanche safety, first aid, risk management, map reading, eco-friendly practices, etc.) to help you safely progress toward self-reliance.
Whether you’re looking for guidance or training—as a group, family, or tribe,as a couple, or just for yourself—whether for a day trip or during eco-scientific hikes and trips—to discover or rediscover the mountains, and to understand and respect the human and natural mountain environment of the Pays de la Meije, please contact Anne by text or email.
