THROW YOURSELF IN THE WATER

The Alpine rivers of the Hautes Vallées La Grave - La Clarée and l'Izoard offer a fantastic playground for whitewater sports: rafting and canyoning.

Whitewater is natural running water, in perpetual motion due to the slope and natural obstacles (rocks, sills, cliffs, waterfalls...). Whitewater boating is all about going with the flow, over sometimes rugged terrain. This has a direct impact on the boat. The various water movements (riffles, pools, abseils, sills) and rocks along the way create passages of varying degrees of difficulty, forming the rapids of our rivers.

The secret to having fun without danger and respecting the environment is tolove the water and know how to swim (of course!), but also to be well supervised - and therefore well equipped - thanks to the many whitewater guides in the area, complemented by mountain guides who also have canyoning skills.

navigate on the Romansh

At the foot of the Meije, the alpine river La Romanche offers a wild setting where you're on your own.

Winding through the trees, the Romanche is full of surprises. Its steep gradient offers many technical sections, including a few rapids that will delight thrill-seekers. Rain or shine, grab your wetsuits!

The big advantage over many other rivers is that, thanks to the glaciers, there's water all summer long.

When rafting, anyone aged 12 or over who can swim is welcome on board.

En kayak, la Romanche est réservée aux kayakistes confirmés. Elle est trop technique pour les débutants, avec peu de fond et de la pente tout le long.
