Aiguillon ridge
Discover the joys of winter hiking on one of two marked routes for ski touring and snowshoeing, departing from Villar d'Arène. This one will take you to the Aiguillon viewpoint at 2095m altitude.
Description
The route offers magnificent views of the Écrins massif, from the Agneaux to the Meije, and of the upper Romanche valley, from the cliffs of the Emparis plateau to the Col du Lautaret.
This itinerary is level 2 and fairly technical on snowshoes.
With free access, you'll be moving in an uncertain natural environment: the itinerary is marked with orange markers, but not secured. You'll be totally autonomous and on your own responsibility. Make sure you set off equipped with a avalanche transceiver, shovel and probe, and with knowledge of the weather, snow conditions and avalanche risk. You'll find a DVA checkpoint at the start of each itinerary.
The itinerary is opened or closed according to snow conditions on the advice of a commission of local experts. For your own safety, please respect this advice.
Feel free to download the safety sign in the "More info" tab on the right.
